{{chris}}My colleague Adam Green just returned from a weekend trip to New York City and snapped this wonderful picture from the top of The Empire State Building.

I’ve never been to NYC before and I sure do want to after seeing this photo! What do you think? It’s amazing, don’t you think!

Some Great Coloring Book Resources

{{chris}} The Internet is a wonderful place to find all kinds of coloring pages you can print off at home for your children when they want them!

Like many parents we’ve been asked at the most inopportune times if we have a coloring page of this or that. Well, after being asked a few times I never wanted to be left without a coloring page again. So I went to the Internet and found some fantastic resources. I’ve pulled them together in a great list to make it easier for you!

Here is our list of coloring page websites I’ve come across.

If you are looking for something I’ve not listed here I recommend you visit this site which has links to many more coloring pages!

Pickering Christmas Parade 2007!

{{chris}} Today the town of Pickering held their annual Christmas Parade and we were there to see all the excitement!

We decided to spend the morning at the parade with our family from Pickering as they live just around the corner from the starting point. We got there in time to get a great spot on the boulevard just steps away from the start. The weather was fantastic – cool but not cold, and only a few wisps of clouds in the skies!

The floats, twirlers, beavers, scouts, cadets, shriners and of course Santa were all fantastic. To get a feel for the parade we’ve posted up a few snapshots! To see the full set of pictures feel free to have a look at the album on Facebook!

If you liked these pics as I mentioned before you can get the rest of the shots on Facebook. Merry Christmas!

If You Have A Problem With Your RSS Feed – Validate It First!

{{chris}} If you’re running a blog and you run into a problem with your RSS feed – validate it first before you start looking around for possible causes and solutions.

Apparently the last post I made caused my RSS feed to not validate properly. Unfortunately FireFox would not show an error, and IE just crashed outright (no surprise there). So I turned to Google and started looking for answers. What I found was not answer but the beginning of where to look! Everyone with a feed problem was starting off by validating their feeds. So I tried that through http://www.feedvalidator.org and voila – it showed me precisely where in my feed the issue was. Although I was not able to detect precisely what the problem was with my content, but I re wrote it and the problem went away!

So there you have it. If you’ve got an RSS feed problem start by validating your feed first!

Turner Fleischer Architects Partipate in CANStruction & Produce Transformer™ Pin Art Sculpture

Last week Turner Fleischer Architects participated in the CANStruction competition to create a sculpture made entirely from cans of food which are then donated to local food-banks after the competition.

My brother Lester Agnew-Kata works at TFAI and explained their entry into the competition. After accepting suggestions from the entire company and voting they chose to design and build a very large Pin Art sculpture of the Transformers™ logo. Working as a team TFAI designed their sculpture in advance to maximize their odds of succeeding.

It took the TFAI team 7.5 hours to construct and produced these staggering stats: 13,230 cans of tomato paste, 11, 025 tape joints, 2,205 sets of 6 cans, 279 cans per row, 49 rows!

It also produced one heck of alot of tired staff! As a Transformers™ fan, I have to admit this is one amazing sculpture – and all for a good cause too. Here are some pictures of this amazing piece of art.

We Celebrated Our Nephews Birthday On Sunday!

{{chris}} On Sunday we celebrated my nephew David’s birthday with a breakfast party at Grandmas house!

David turned four on Sunday! We celebrated by having a breakfast party at Grandmas house. We had pancakes and fruit, then we went for a walk with Coco the dog. Afterwards we had cake and then we opened presents!

The boys had a wonderful time as can be seen by some of the pictures we took. Kids are too much fun!

David and Declan both enjoyed playing together, walking the dog and of course opening their presents! If you’re one of my Friends on Facebook you can see the entire album of photos from this fun day.

Christmas Has Officially Arrived At Our House Today

{{chris}} Christmas has officially arrived at our house today!

Well it’s official. Christmas has arrived at our house. I spent most of the afternoon stringing lights, changing bulbs and setting up giant blow up lawn ornaments. There are a few more strings of lights to go up in addition to a music box which apparently works out doors and blasts Christmas carols to all who pass by. I hope I don’t annoy the neighbors too much with that one! Last year we one a “festive” award from the city for having decorated our house so nicely. I’m sure others did too – I’d like to hear from them and see their homes this Christmas season.

To get a feel for what our house looks like just after the sun sets I’m posting a few picks for you to enjoy.

I hope you like these pics! If you’ve decorated your house please feel free to comment or send us your pictures and we’ll post them here too!

Zig Ziglar On How To Be A Better Spouse!

{{chris}} One of Zig’s latest podcast episodes is about why it’s so important to tell your partner you love them!

I’ll be the first to admit I’m far from a perfect husband. However, being fully aware of that fact and my firm belief that we can all learn and change ourselves means I’m always trying to do better. That’s where Zig comes in – he makes it all sound simple. His latest episode titled “Tell Your Partner You Love Them!” is short but packed with a lifetime of wisdom from Zigs personal life and those he’s met through the years.

If you’re married and you want to hear something funny and inspirational – I recommend you give this episode a listen. It may just change your life and save your marriage!

YouTube Has Launched It’s Canadian Site

{{chris}} Earlier today YouTube launched it’s Canadian Site – YouTube.ca.

The new all Canadian site looks just like the US version but will only feature Canadian content. Not suprisingly it’s already full of content. However, now is your chance to make your mark. There is still relatively little content compared to the US version so it’s kind of an open territory for posting. If you’ve got some video, I suggest you start posting and tagging it properly!
